About the Marwa scale

One of the ten thaats of North Indian classical music, in Bhatkhande's classification. Raga Marwa itself leaves out the 5th, but the thaat that carries its name includes it.

What makes it sound the way it does

It's Lydian with a ♭2: a ♭2 and ♯4 with a major 3rd, 6th and 7th.
