Evil Oil Man
1 on 1 Online Zoom Sessions
I’m Maffy (Evil Oil Man), a multi-genre producer releasing music since 2012. With over a decade of studio experience, I help producers develop clarity in their sound, break through creative limitations, and bring their tracks to a professional level.
Hands-on mentoring made to sharpen your sound design and workflow
Operator & Wavetable
I primarily use Operator and Wavetable to teach producers how to make psy‑techno basses, twisted stabs, braaamps and chilling atmospheres from scratch.
Ableton Live
With 17 years in Ableton Live and a history of teaching countless producers, I show how to take raw ideas and turn them into complete tracks with creative clarity.

What you'll learn
I work directly with you on your own projects, offering detailed, practical feedback and clear guidance at every stage — from building original sounds to arranging complete, release-ready tracks and refining your artistic identity.
If you’re serious about stepping up your level as a producer, this is about building the skills and mindset to create powerful, dance-floor-driven tracks with intention.
Synthesis
Design The Sound You Want
Learn synthesis inside Ableton with Operator, Wavetable, Serum 2 & More. Shape your sound with oscillators, filters, and modulators, and take control of your production by designing patches that are entirely your own. Real sound design starts here.
Transform Sound
Layering & Resampling
Learn how to take your sounds further by stacking, manipulating, and reprocessing them. Explore creative resampling techniques to add depth, movement, and character, and discover how subtle adjustments can turn basic patches into rich, complex textures.
Kick & Bass
Deep & Clean Low End
Learn to design psy‑techno glide basses, rolling swamp bass & squidy bass music wubs that move with the groove. Craft kicks and basslines that hit in sync, master phase alignment, and shape every sub and transient with precision — ensuring your low end drives energy and clarity on any system.
Workflow
From Idea To Finished
Discover my workflow for turning ideas into full tracks. We’ll study my own productions to see how I build flow, structure tension, and craft transitions. You’ll learn how to automate FX, shape energy, and take your tracks from start to finish with clarity and intention.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need to be a certain level to book a session?
Whether you’re experimenting with your first ideas or already putting out tracks, I tailor every session to fit your journey, not a preset standard of where you’re ‘supposed’ to be.
What DAW do you use? Will it work if I use a different one?
I work primarily with Ableton Live, but the sessions focus on decisions, techniques, and workflow that transcend any DAW. No matter what DAW you work in, the concepts and strategies you learn will apply to your setup.
What time zone are the sessions in?
All my sessions are scheduled in London, UK time (GMT). My time zone is locked to prevent confusion and double booking.
What should I prepare before the session?
Bring your project file or WAV if you’re working on a track. If not, come with a clear question or goal for the session. No over-prepping needed—we’ll start by aligning on exactly what you want to get out of your time together.
Will you work directly on my project or just give feedback?
Both. We’ll break down your track in detail, make live adjustments if useful, and I’ll explain why changes work—not just what to change. The goal is to leave you confident in your decisions.
Is this suitable if I’m stuck finishing tracks or mixing?
Yes—these are two of the most common reasons people book. Whether it’s arrangement, balance, or gaining confidence in your choices, we’ll focus on what’s holding your track back.
Is this more technical or more creative?
Both. We’ll break down your track in detail, make live adjustments if useful, and I’ll explain why changes work—not just what to change. The goal is to leave you confident in your decisions.
How do the sessions take place?
Sessions are held online via Zoom. Each video session will be recorded and sent to you promptly, so you can revisit feedback and adjustments anytime.
What’s your cancellation or no-show policy?
Cancellations must be made at least 12 hours before the session for a refund or credit. You can reschedule up to 4 hours before the session starts. No-shows or late cancellations are non-refundable.
Will one session actually make a difference?
Absolutely. Most producers leave with clear direction, practical improvements to their track, and a better understanding of their process. One focused session can often save weeks of trial and error.
